I design complex systems where AI has to earn trust — emergency platforms, smart home ecosystems, enterprise tools. Currently focused on human-AI interaction and accessible design.

ABOUT

Over 7 years across Smart Home, Public Safety, EdTech and Enterprise, building systems where the stakes are high, the users are diverse, and the AI behavior has to be both legible and trustworthy.

SELECTED PROJECTS

MY PRACTICE

I design at the intersection of AI capabilities and human expertise.

The people I design for aren't casual users — they're operators, safety officers, and coordinators working under pressure. My job is making complex systems navigable without pretending they're simple.

Discovery & User Research

Product Thinking & Concept Definition

Rapid Prototyping & Validation

Design Systems & Component Architecture

Information Architecture

Usability Testing & Experimentation

I design for accessibility from the start and I understand how it's built.

I design for accessibility from the start and I understand how it's built.

I've written accessibility specs for engineering handoff, taught developers how to implement focus order and ARIA roles, and caught contrast failures that passed internal UI review. I treat accessibility as a design-engineering partnership, not an audit checkbox.

WCAG 2.1 Compliance

Accessibility Annotations & Specs

Focus Order & Keyboard Navigation

ARIA Roles & Semantic HTML

Accessibility Tokens & Theming

Screen Reader Testing (VoiceOver / TalkBack)

WHAT MY COLLEAGUES SAY

Olya spotted pain points in our experience that we had stopped noticing, and she was clear about where we needed to focus. Keep on pushing the critical thinking!

Nathan Becker

Sr. Satff UX Designer

@Arlo

Myself and the team really enjoyed working with Olya. Her work was fantastic and she did some amazing things in ther short time.

Tom Doerr

Director of UX

@Arlo

Olya led product design for our AI-powered emergency communication platform with clarity and technical intuition, surfacing edge cases and API constraints before I'd even thought of them.

Phaneendra A. Ravi

Software Engineer

@Adobe

Olya caught documentation gaps and edge cases that saved us real headaches during implementation.

Artsem K.

Android Developer

@Arlo

Olya really has a great mind for UI/UX. Any team would be lucky to have her.

Jeff Layton

CIO

@ACE Relocation

One of Olya’s many strengths is how she conducts research, analyzes various user flows and interfaces, and curates prototypes thoughtfully. There is intention and thought that goes into each design decision she makes. I really enjoyed working with her.

WHAT'S SHAPING MY THINKING

Design decisions don't come from design books alone.

Design decisions don't come from design books alone.

I read across psychology, neuroscience, AI, and business strategy. These are the books that have shaped how I approach problems.
